Supreme Court Pulls Up NCPCR Over RTE Quota Implementation, Directs Chairperson & Director To Appear
The Supreme Court has directed the Chairperson and Director of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to remain personally present at the next hearing concerning implementation of the 25% admission mandate under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education Act. The direction came after the Court found the NCPCR's affidavit unsatisfactory and emphasised that its role extends beyond collecting information to ensuring that the statutory mandate is effectively implemented.
