This Privacy Policy explains what personal information LexKiran collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what is necessary to run the site and to be transparent about it, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

1. Information We Collect

When you comment on an article or research paper: your name, email address, and comment text. Your email address is never displayed publicly — it is used only to identify you and, if needed, to follow up about your comment.

When you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address, used solely to send you updates about new articles and research papers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email.

When you use our contact form: your name, email address, and message, used to respond to your query.

Automatically: basic technical information such as your IP address, which we retain against comments and contact messages for spam and abuse prevention.

Cookies: we use a single essential session cookie to keep editorial team members logged in to the admin dashboard, and to remember your one-time security token when submitting a form. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes in the future (for example, by adding a visitor analytics tool), we will update this policy accordingly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above only to: publish your name alongside a comment you choose to post; send newsletter updates to subscribers; respond to messages sent through the contact form; and maintain the security and integrity of the website (for example, detecting spam or abuse).

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LexKiran, its users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain comment and contact form data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6 below).

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage for editorial team accounts and secure handling of form submissions. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under the DPDP Act and other applicable law, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information (for example, a comment or newsletter subscription); and withdraw consent, such as by unsubscribing from our newsletter. LexKiran is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
